What a week! What a honeymoon! We had an absolutely blast in the Maldives to see Missy Higgins. The resort was beautiful, the staff were amazing and it was actual paradise. White sandy beaches and the most beautiful blue ocean you’ll ever see. What a great bunch of people too, all there for the same reason – to see Missy and her band playing in paradise, we have made memories that will last a lifetime, and we are so glad we chose this event for our honeymoon. All I can say is DO IT!

Last year, my friends returned from Music in Paradise: Missy Higgins in the Maldives absolutely raving about it. At the time, I was in the middle of cancer treatment, and while I was thrilled for them, I couldn’t help but dream that if the opportunity ever came around again, I would be healthy enough to be there too. It became a bucket list trip and a promise to myself.

Fast forward to this year. My final surgery was just nine weeks ago, followed by eight weeks of recovery. When my surgeon gave me the all clear to travel, I honestly couldn’t believe I really was going to the Maldives!

From the moment we arrived, I was completely blown away. Kandooma is every bit as spectacular as you imagine! Every day somehow managed to top the one before. We met so many wonderful, likeminded people, and before long our breakfast table had grown from a small group into a lively gathering of new friends, sharing stories, laughs and an obsession with Geraldine (the crazy heron).

I had convinced myself this trip was going to be all about rest and relaxation, instead I couldn’t resist signing up for activity after activity. As it turns out, what I really needed wasn’t slowing down, it was sunshine, crystal clear water, endless laughs and a healthy dose of adrenaline. Swimming with sharks, parasailing, boom net adventures… we did it all, and I loved every second!!

Most importantly there was the reason we were all there, the incredible Missy Higgins. Three unforgettable nights of music on the beach, with the perfect mix of old favourites, deep cuts and everything in between. The atmosphere was pure magic. The moment the crowd simply couldn’t stay seated any longer and everyone jumped up to dance is something I’ll never forget. Smiling faces everywhere, old friends alongside new ones, all sharing these incredible moments with the most beautiful soundtrack imaginable!

This wasn’t just a holiday for me, it was a celebration of life, health, friendship and making memories that will stay with me forever. Thank you, Music in Paradise, for giving me a week I’ll treasure forever!

Wow!! Where to start, this holiday was beautiful from airport pick up to drop off. The organisers of the event were amazing, and with the added bonus of Missy Higgins on three nights was exceptional. We loved it so much we have booked for next year already.

We could not have had a more fantastic trip! Seeing Missy Higgins with Music in Paradise was a true ‘once in a lifetime’ experience! The Maldives are like paradise on earth and seeing Missy and her band in such an intimate and fun environment was unforgettable!

Absolute Bliss!

Just over one week since leaving paradise with Missy, and we’re holding on tightly to stay in that bubble. It almost feels like a fantasy but was completely real. This was so much more than a holiday—it was an inspiring, life-enriching experience.

The incomparable beauty of the Maldives provided endless opportunities to immerse ourselves in incredible experiences. We started each day with jungle and beach walks, followed by yoga, snorkelling or surfing adventures. Afternoons were spent unwinding by the pool or on the beach with a cold beer or cocktail.

Sharing the experience with a small group of dedicated fans created a genuine sense of community. Mingling with Missy and the band around the island each day made it even more special. They embraced every moment and opportunity, and the close bond they share was obvious. Their warmth, humour and connection added something really special to the atmosphere.

The live music experiences were beyond amazing —intimate, moving and deeply soul-nourishing in a way that far surpassed any standard concert event. Missy was authentic and effortlessly engaging, sharing stories that stirred emotions while performing the songs that mean so much to us with heart, soul and a big dose of fun. For three unforgettable nights, we danced barefoot in the sand, sang and screamed every lyric in unison with her, standing just metres away. It was exhilarating, emotional and totally unforgettable.

Lara, Marie and the MIP team were exceptional from beginning to end. Every detail was thoughtfully organised, and they were always responsive to questions and requests. On the island they were warm, welcoming, approachable and genuinely caring. We always knew exactly what, how and when things were happening. Communication and customer service were the best we have experienced in years.

The location, food and accommodation were all outstanding, and our daily interactions with the wonderful local staff added another layer to the experience. Their kindness, hospitality and conversation made us feel genuinely welcome.

If you’ve ever considered a MIP experience, treat yourself and just GO! This one incredible week has woven itself into the fabric of our lives in ways we never could have imagined. The memories, music and connections we’ve made will stay in our hearts always.

I arrived in the Maldives expecting an incredible holiday and the chance to see Missy Higgins perform in one of the most beautiful places on earth. What I didn’t expect was to leave with a whole new group of friends, unforgettable memories, and a feeling that I had been part of something truly special.

The intimacy of the performances, the stories behind the songs, and the atmosphere of the island made it feel like something far beyond a normal concert experience.

The Maldives itself was everything you imagine and more. The crystal-clear water, incredible sunsets, beautiful beaches, and peaceful island moments were amazing, but the people are what made the trip truly special. The laughs, conversations, adventures, and friendships created throughout the week are memories I will treasure forever.

Music in Paradise didn’t just create a holiday. They created a community. A place where music brought people together and where a group of strangers became friends.

We had such a magical time partying with Missy and her fans in the Maldives!! Three amazing sunset concerts where Missy was so relaxed and the shows so intimate – like nothing you could experience anywhere else. Missy and her band just mingled on the island with us and joined in the fun, such a social atmosphere. A highlight was definitely meeting Missy for the first time and chatting with her! The MIP team were amazing, everything was so well planned and smooth, the whole event was run to perfection. Thank you so much and we already can’t wait to party again with Missy in Fiji in 2027!!

Just spent a week in Kandooma, The Maldives. They promote it as “Music in Paradise” and they deliver that and so much more. It was an absolute dream! We got 3 magic nights with Missy Higgins and her band. That beautiful music set against magnificent sunsets was just joyful. It’s both relaxed and intimate with a generous set list that offered favourites along with wonderful surprises. To top it off, my husband got the promised surf in multiple locations. Both our cups were over flowing and we had the time of our lives. I thought it might be a once only but I hope not. Thankyou to all the wonderful staff at MIP, the beautiful people at the resort and Missy Higgins and her band. If you get the opportunity, just say YES!

Missy Higgins Music in Paradise was one of the best weeks of my life. It was our 25 year anniversary and it exceeded all our expectations. The music was incredible, the food and resort were amazing and the surfing was unbelievable. The whole event is extremely well organised. I would recommend Music in Paradise to anyone. I’ll definitely do it again.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!!

So many pinch myself moments, from the meet and greet, to hearing Missy and the band warm up while surfing at Kandooma’s private surf break, swimming with sharks and rays, amazing food, incredible service, it was one of the most amazing weeks of my life! I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

My dream come true. Sleeping in a villa over the water, Swimming in the worlds biggest aquarium, And oh so warm.

Our island was small quiet and stunning. Concerts were out of this world. Missy and friends and family were lovely. Only regret: Not long enough.

Despite these very high expectations, I still came away from my time in the Maldives completely blown away by the experience.

By day – diving, snorkelling, surfing, swimming with sharks, or just lazing about on the beach.

By night – Watching a performer whose music has been one of the soundtracks of my life in a magical, intimate setting. Missy was INCREDIBLE!

The organisation and communication ahead of the trip was top class. The accommodation was exceptional, the food was fantastic, and the other guests were brilliant fun.

When I initially heard about Missy playing in the Maldives I thought it couldn’t true. 3 intimate beachside concerts, snorkelling with sharks in the most pristine waters, surfing off the most beautiful beaches. And meeting Missy! I paid my deposit and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. The care and organisation of the Music in Paradise staff, the magical island location, the fellow travellers and of course Missy and her brilliant songs and band. Thank you MIP for a totally unforgettable experience.

The music in paradise team are so great – Marie and Jamie have nailed it!! When you’re not watching your favourite artist performing on the beach at sunset, you’re snorkling with turtles and sharks or meeting incredible new friends on the island with you.

The staff at Kandooma resort were lovely and took care of everything we could need. I will 100% be doing this again!

This trip was so good. We loved the concerts of course, but the food and snorkelling and the staff made it amazing. You won’t regret attending a Music in Paradise event.

Oh no… I’ve found a new addiction!

And I have one huge dilemma… there are three musicians I want to see perform at an MIP event next year!!

Let me explain how this has become a problem for me…

As someone who’s passionate about live music and travel, this experience was an unforgettable way to combine both loves. Picture this: three mesmerizing Missy Higgins performances, with her brilliant band, set against a backdrop of sunsets melting into turquoise waters. Pure magic.

The Music in Paradise (MIP) team absolutely nailed it—from their impeccable choice of location to their seamless communication and the intuitive app that kept us updated on every event. They created a week filled with joy, connection, and awe. There was an overwhelming sense of celebration and respect—both for the natural beauty of the Maldives and for Missy herself. Fans remained gracious and considerate, while Missy and her crew seemed completely at ease, enjoying the resort alongside us.

Beyond the music, the MIP team thoughtfully curated a range of activities: daily yoga, surfing, an unexpected beach bonfire night, salsa dancing under the stars, and even a heartfelt meet-and-greet with Missy. Every detail felt intentional, and every day brought something new to discover.

Kandooma Resort was paradise. The food and drink offerings were generous, with flexible packages to suit everyone. We arrived to a string of surprise experiences: themed celebration feasts, sunset cocktails, live DJ sets, nightly dinner performances, and cultural evenings showcasing the spirit of the Maldives. We snorkeled, jet-skied, scuba-dived, cruised at sunset, and even went on a once-in-a-lifetime tour—swimming with nurse sharks, watching dolphins play, feeding wild stingrays, and witnessing a pod of manta rays glide past us. Breathtaking doesn’t begin to cover it.

The staff made the stay even more special—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. By the end of the week, they knew us by name and even anticipated our favorite food and drinks.

And finally, the other guests… what a wonderful community. We all arrived with a shared love of Missy’s music, but we left with much more—laughter, memories, and a new circle of friends.

This wasn’t just a holiday. It was a soul-filling, heart-opening adventure I’ll never forget. Until next time, MIP. You’ve got me hooked.

Still buzzing from our week in the beautiful Maldives. So many highlights: the wonderful Missy Higgins, the experiences of snorkeling with sharks, turtles, fish, manta rays, hand feeding sting rays, snorkeling on a wreck, the Kandooma Resort and their wonderful staff, SUPping in such an amazing location. What a week! I came with 2 friends for the Music in Paradise event with Missy Higgins in the Maldives. I have dreamt of a Tropical Island holiday since I was a little kid playing “travel agents” in my bedroom with brochures I would collect, and when I saw Missy on Insta sharing about this MIP event I knew I wanted this to be THE trip.

The fantastic Music in Paradise crew communication before the event made it seamless (thanks Lara!) and getting to hang out with 2 great friends and the other 200+ Missy Higgins fans (all bloody awesome people!) was epic. The 3 sunset concerts were brilliant! Missy and the band were SO good and going to a concert where you could stand in the lapping turquoise water while sipping a cold drink and dancing and singing along to your fave songs… well I’m getting teary thinking about how magic it was!

The Island itself is beautiful and we shared a 2 bedroom villa which was spacious and private with a lovely outlook to the garden and water glimpses. The week far surpassed my expections with the staff at Kandooma a standout! Food and Beverage Nujoom and Aman both gave exceptional service with warmth, friendliness and efficiency. The buffet breakfast is the best Ive ever had! I also had an amazing massage and incredible snorkelling half day tour with 3 lovely boat crew. Really enjoyed our SUP Yoga session and being about to take out the SUPs for a few paddles as well. Overall a wonderful week in Paradise with really cool people and the incredible Missy Higgins. It truly was the trip of a lifetime and I am so glad I went. THANK YOU MIP!!
