A dreamy tropical destination combined with an artist whose music I adore seemed like the perfect combination for a holiday.

Despite these very high expectations, I still came away from my time in the Maldives completely blown away by the experience.

By day – diving, snorkelling, surfing, swimming with sharks, or just lazing about on the beach.

By night – Watching a performer whose music has been one of the soundtracks of my life in a magical, intimate setting. Missy was INCREDIBLE!

The organisation and communication ahead of the trip was top class. The accommodation was exceptional, the food was fantastic, and the other guests were brilliant fun.

If a performer who rocks your world is offering an upcoming Music in Paradise adventure: 3 words – JUST DO IT!

When I initially heard about Missy playing in the Maldives I thought it couldn’t true. 3 intimate beachside concerts, snorkelling with sharks in the most pristine waters, surfing off the most beautiful beaches. And meeting Missy! I paid my deposit and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. The care and organisation of the Music in Paradise staff, the magical island location, the fellow travellers and of course Missy and her brilliant songs and band. Thank you MIP for a totally unforgettable experience.

Literally the best week of my life, in actual paradise.

The music in paradise team are so great – Marie and Jamie have nailed it!! When you’re not watching your favourite artist performing on the beach at sunset, you’re snorkling with turtles and sharks or meeting incredible new friends on the island with you.

The staff at Kandooma resort were lovely and took care of everything we could need. I will 100% be doing this again!

This trip was so good. We loved the concerts of course, but the food and snorkelling and the staff made it amazing. You won’t regret attending a Music in Paradise event.

Oh no… I’ve found a new addiction!

And I have one huge dilemma… there are three musicians I want to see perform at an MIP event next year!!

Let me explain how this has become a problem for me…

As someone who’s passionate about live music and travel, this experience was an unforgettable way to combine both loves. Picture this: three mesmerizing Missy Higgins performances, with her brilliant band, set against a backdrop of sunsets melting into turquoise waters. Pure magic.

The Music in Paradise (MIP) team absolutely nailed it—from their impeccable choice of location to their seamless communication and the intuitive app that kept us updated on every event. They created a week filled with joy, connection, and awe. There was an overwhelming sense of celebration and respect—both for the natural beauty of the Maldives and for Missy herself. Fans remained gracious and considerate, while Missy and her crew seemed completely at ease, enjoying the resort alongside us.

Beyond the music, the MIP team thoughtfully curated a range of activities: daily yoga, surfing, an unexpected beach bonfire night, salsa dancing under the stars, and even a heartfelt meet-and-greet with Missy. Every detail felt intentional, and every day brought something new to discover.

Kandooma Resort was paradise. The food and drink offerings were generous, with flexible packages to suit everyone. We arrived to a string of surprise experiences: themed celebration feasts, sunset cocktails, live DJ sets, nightly dinner performances, and cultural evenings showcasing the spirit of the Maldives. We snorkeled, jet-skied, scuba-dived, cruised at sunset, and even went on a once-in-a-lifetime tour—swimming with nurse sharks, watching dolphins play, feeding wild stingrays, and witnessing a pod of manta rays glide past us. Breathtaking doesn’t begin to cover it.

The staff made the stay even more special—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. By the end of the week, they knew us by name and even anticipated our favorite food and drinks.

And finally, the other guests… what a wonderful community. We all arrived with a shared love of Missy’s music, but we left with much more—laughter, memories, and a new circle of friends.

This wasn’t just a holiday. It was a soul-filling, heart-opening adventure I’ll never forget. Until next time, MIP. You’ve got me hooked.

Still buzzing from our week in the beautiful Maldives. So many highlights: the wonderful Missy Higgins, the experiences of snorkeling with sharks, turtles, fish, manta rays, hand feeding sting rays, snorkeling on a wreck, the Kandooma Resort and their wonderful staff, SUPping in such an amazing location. One of the main things that will stick with me was seeing the pure joy and happiness on everyone’s faces, (just check out the photos!). Thank you so much to the lovely team from Music in Paradise. What a week! I came with 2 friends for the Music in Paradise event with Missy Higgins in the Maldives. I have dreamt of a Tropical Island holiday since I was a little kid playing “travel agents” in my bedroom with brochures I would collect, and when I saw Missy on Insta sharing about this MIP event I knew I wanted this to be THE trip.

The fantastic Music in Paradise crew communication before the event made it seamless (thanks Lara!) and getting to hang out with 2 great friends and the other 200+ Missy Higgins fans (all bloody awesome people!) was epic. The 3 sunset concerts were brilliant! Missy and the band were SO good and going to a concert where you could stand in the lapping turquoise water while sipping a cold drink and dancing and singing along to your fave songs… well I’m getting teary thinking about how magic it was!

The Island itself is beautiful and we shared a 2 bedroom villa which was spacious and private with a lovely outlook to the garden and water glimpses. The week far surpassed my expections with the staff at Kandooma a standout! Food and Beverage Nujoom and Aman both gave exceptional service with warmth, friendliness and efficiency. The buffet breakfast is the best Ive ever had! I also had an amazing massage and incredible snorkelling half day tour with 3 lovely boat crew. Really enjoyed our SUP Yoga session and being about to take out the SUPs for a few paddles as well. Overall a wonderful week in Paradise with really cool people and the incredible Missy Higgins. It truly was the trip of a lifetime and I am so glad I went. THANK YOU MIP!!

Beautiful place to have a music event. Great the organisers and band mixed with everyone. The 3 events was a great way of having a break to explore the amazing islands. Had a fantastic time.

Honestly even if you are just considering going on one of these trips, do it. My partner and I legitimately had one of the best weeks ever. The music in paradise team were all extremely helpful and the events were all very well organised. A week in the sun, cocktails, swimming, delicious food and music on the beach? What more could you ask for.

Imagine being on a tiny island surrounded by your favourite musicians and a group of people who love them too. Everywhere you look is a dream come true. Crystal blue water, white sand, palm trees, beautiful flowers, great food, excellent service. Snorkelling 50 metres from your cabin and seeing tropical marine-life right at your door step. The band members were my neighbours. One was right next door. 3 spectacular, intimate shows unforgettable settings. Some of the best nights of my life.

If I had used my wildest imagination to create a dream holiday, I wouldn’t have pictured this. It was everything I could have hoped for and so much more. Worth every single cent. Would do it all again in a heartbeat.

The MIP team and fantastic, resort staff are simply wonderful, the resort was spectacular and the music was mind blowing.

This was our 3rd trip with MIP and 2nd to our bucket list destination, what more can I say actions speak louder than words.

Do your self a favour and book a MIP experience, you will not be sorry. 😊
