Ecocrackenback is a certified 4 Star resort with more than 40 acres of land featuring beautiful local flora and fauna. It consists of 18 well appointed ‘habitats’ nestled along Alpine Way.

Each habitat includes a self contained kitchen with convection microwave, 2 hot plates, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster (and crockery, cooking utensils) – allowing for self catering (the Jindabyne Woolworths is a quick ten minute drive away to replenish supplies). There is also a BBQ on the deck.

Silver Package: Standard Lakeview Apartment or Mountain Chalet

Driving

This spectacular region can be easily accessed with routes passing through towns such as Jindabyne and Cooma to the east, Tumut to the north and Tumbarumba to the west. From Sydney, the scenic drive takes around 6 hours, 7 hours from Melbourne and 2 hours from Canberra. 

 

Airports

The Snowy Mountains Airport is located near Cooma.

To get to the Snowy Mountains, you can also fly into Canberra, a 2-hour drive from Jindabyne. Wagga Wagga Airport is approximately 70 mins from Snowy Mountains. It’s easy to hire a car or arrange transfers from these airports.

Are pets allowed at the Resort?
Unfortunately, guests cannot bring pets to the Resort. If you have any questions relating to assistance animals, please contact the resort directly on (02) 6451 3000.

Can I hire DVD’s and/or board games?
Yes. Visit Reception for a variety of complimentary board games or to rent one of many DVDs.

Can I fish in the lake and do I need a fishing license?
Lake Crackenback is a man-made lake that is stocked twice a year with trout. You do need a fishing license.

Do I need to purchase firewood during my stay?
At Crackers General Store, you can purchase firewood for $25.00 per 15kg bag; kindling is also available for $10.00 per 2kg bag which includes matches and firelighters.

How much does it cost to get into the Kosciuszko National Park?
The current fee to enter the park is $17.00 in summer for 24 hours. You can purchase tickets from the National Park gate located 5 minutes from the Resort.

Is my apartment/chalet serviced during my stay?
A daily service is not included to keep charges minimal. However, for a low fee they can organise a daily service and refresh for your room. Please contact Reception to arrange this additional service—02 6451 3000.

Is the pool heated?
Yes, the indoor pool is heated to 28 degrees year round.

Is there car parking?
Yes, parking at Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa is free of charge. Every property has 1 allocated car space.

What is provided in the accommodation at Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa?
At the Resort they provide linen and towels, washing and dishwashing liquid, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, saucepans, iron and ironing board, tea & coffee making facilities.

What types of animals might I see on the Resort property?
There is an abundance of wildlife that roams freely on the Resort property. Look out for kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, possums, emus, birds, deer, rabbits and ducks.
